金華山のふもと、長良川が流れる小さな町の、古い町家。
思索の庭は、そこで営む本と宿とカフェの空間です。 An old machiya in a small town at the foot of Mt. Kinka, where the Nagara River flows. Shisaku no Niwa is a space of books, lodging and a café, run within it.

入口の土間から、奥の中庭へ。
歩みを進めるほどに、社会から、ひとりの内面へと、少しずつ静かになっていきます。 From the earthen-floored entrance to the courtyard at the back. The further you walk, the more quietly you move, little by little, from the world of society toward the inner self.

忙しく情報があふれる毎日の中で、
ゆっくり考えて過ごす時間は、失われがちです。
本と、空間と、滞在を通して、
一歩立ち止まり、思索する時間をつくりたいと思っています。
旅の人も、地域の人も、ただ通りすがる人も、
それぞれが自分のペースで思索できる場所であってほしい。 In days that are busy and full of information, time to think slowly is easily lost. Through books, space and a stay, we hope to create time to pause for a moment and contemplate. Travellers, locals, and those simply passing through: we hope everyone can contemplate at their own pace.

思索や文化が新しく生まれる機会を、
岐阜という土地に根ざして、少しずつ増やしていきたいと願っています。 We wish to gradually create more opportunities for contemplation and culture to be born, rooted in the land of Gifu.
